Latest reviews of Ap Geiriaduron app for iPhone and iPad

Download is not working
Downloading of the vocabulary simply is not working. The download never goes any further than 5%. I am on a super fast internet connection and have tried several locations including closing and reopening the app. All to no avail. Therefore, without the vocabulary, the app is useless so only one star.
Really excellent Welsh-English dictionary app
Ive been using this app on a daily basis since it was released, and I couldnt be more pleased with it. The interface is elegant (you can choose to use it in English or Cymraeg) and its simple to switch between Welsh-to-English and English-to-Welsh. I can use the app with a single hand for convenience. The app is stable and fast. The dictionaries included -- the more technical Y Termiadur and the standard Cysgair -- are quite comprehensive. I had a problem with the initial installation on my iPhone 4s. You download/install the app as usual . . . but then, the app needs to do a one-time download of the dictionary files. My download of the dictionary stalled out partway. The fix on my iPhone 4s was: - Doubleclick the button, which brings up the row at the bottom of all apps that are open in the background - Hold your finger down on any one of those app icons until they all start to shake - Hit the red minus sign on each app icon to close ALL of them - Once EVERYTHING is closed, doubleclick the button again to go back to your normal home screen - Reopen Geiriaduron. From this point on, it downloaded all the dictionary files without fuss. I was on wifi, not a cell network, which seems like a good idea too. For the developers: Two additions that would be nice would be (1) idioms & compound terms, and (2) ability to search by the beginning or end of a word. Both of these features are in the web-based University of Wales Trinity Saint David site geiriadur.net.
Croeso i Gymraeg
Good app for those who plan a trip to Wales. I like it.
Great before the updates
Great when it worked, but the 1.3 update has left it very unstable. Search often fails, it frequently crashes
